When one looks at Ken’s 30 plus years of production, it is clear that he never allows his work to stagnate. Ken has always been pushing his art and his technique to new heights. Whether it be his use of the orb and other sculptural forms, or adopting and reinventing techniques for use in paperweights, he has always been one of the main innovators in the art of the modern paperweight in both form and technique. He is considered by most to be a master in the art of the paperweight.

A brilliant blue butterfly with green aventurine spots feeds at a lush lampwork bouquet of purple morning glory, pink blossoms with narrow petals, and yellow flowers with orange centers. Finished with complex scallop cut facets around the lower half of the dome. As summer draw near the end, let it be endless and place this on your mantel. The compound design of this weight is complex and difficult to achieve especially with the intricate lampwork seen here in Ken's work. The faceting itself symmetrical and well executed and highlights the motif well, adding to the work's overall elegance.
