One of the most collectible patterns from modern Baccarat. The silhouette canes featured in this paperweight, and all of those found in this series, is based on the original antique Gridel Silhouette canes which are famously known to have been designed by one a child of one of the factories workers. Weights in the series vary in color, design, and central figure. In this example the rooster is the star of the show, with a large cane front and center. Around the edge of the large center cane is a garland of 18 silhouette canes based on the original Gridel canes. It is fun, and sometime challenging, endeavor to seek out and collect all renderings in the series.
