A rather unusual form - rarely seen in paperweights, featuring a squat tile-like design with a colorful tropical fish set over a gold foil ground and encapsulated in clear glass. There are a number of different contemporary Muranese weights with the same form and it would make for a interesting collection. This is a very nicely made example with a perfectly formed lamp work fish, well centered over a striking gold foil ground.
