Paul Stankard Art Glass Paperweight Detailed Lampworked Floral Block Sculpture

Makers Mark: Hand Inscribed near the base on the left side, “Especially for Bronwer Jean 1-30-98, 1998 Paul J Stankard T3”.

A beautifully detailed example with a lovely floral nature scene featuring yellow chrysanthemum style blossoms with red berries, and blue forget-me-nots. The flowers are set in a complex thicket of green foliage over a complex network of earth tone roots including four root people with word canes embedded in some of the roots.The roots rise up off a symbolic green sphere, within the sphere rests a single yellow blossom with a lone ant feeding at its nectar.  Three additional ants feed and one bumble bee feed at the upper blossoms. Finished with cube faceting and textured surface on the sides and back.
