An uncommon and beautifully executed 19th-century crown paperweight featuring an elaborate arrangement of alternating red, green, and cobalt blue ribbon twists, interspersed with delicate white filigree strands. The colorful ribbons radiate downward from a large, well-centered complex blue millefiori crown, spiraling gracefully through the crystal to create a striking interplay of color, movement, and transparency. As is characteristic of many 19th-century crown paperweights, this example was partially hollow-blown, with a fully enclosed hollow interior.
