Early Chinese White Ground Art Glass Paperweight Handprint Bird In A Tree

Makers Mark: unsigned

Condition:  A couple of minor abrasions and one small chip of large flea bite to the side of the dome. Minor nicks and shelf wear to the  shallow ground concave base. The white disk appears to have a minor annealing fracture on the upper surface of the disk only - running from 7 to 2 o'clock.  Please see photos and let us know if you need any additional assistance.

These early Chinese weights are unique in that they require skill in both traditional Chinese painting and glass works. The image is first painted in colored enamel glass on a disk then encased in glass. This is a destined example with a lovely thicket of yellow and orange blossoms, blue bamboo leaves and a seated robin.
