Condition: Good, with several small chips to the edges of the facets and shelf wear to the base.

A detailed bust of Queen Elizabeth I framed by the letters "VICTORIA I REINE DE LA GRANDE BRETAGNE" set over a transparent blue ground. Each of the letters is composed of the same material as the bust. Just how this paperweight, with the tiny sulphide letters, was made has been a puzzle to historians and makers for years. The paperweight is finished with 11 upper side facets and a large top facet.
