An exceptional example featuring a detailed hand-painted scene of what I believe is a black-crested Bulbul found in southeast Asian  asia the Indian subcontinent. The bird sits amongst a thicket of leaves and pink colored blossoms. The Chinese white painted Ground paperweights were made throughout the 1939s and into the 1940s. The scenes are hand-painted on thin white discs and then encapsulated in clear.
