An uncommon and beautifully executed 19th-century crown paperweight featuring an elaborate arrangement of alternating red and green ribbon twists and delicate white filigree strands, radiating downward from a large, well-centered complex millefiori crown. The vibrant ribbons spiral gracefully through the crystal, creating a striking interplay of color, movement, and transparency. As is characteristic of many 19th-century crown paperweights, this example was partially hollow-blown, with a fully enclosed hollow interior.
