Ken Rosenfeld

Ken graduated from UCSB with a degree in ceramics in 1972. But it was while pursuing a graduate degree at Southern Illinois University that Ken was first exposed to the world of glass. Soon after earning a graduate degree in 1975, Ken went to work at Correia Art Glass in Santa Monica, CA, where he worked for 5 years.

Upon learning about lampwork paperweights and wanting to learn more, he attended his first PCA Convention in 1981. In 1983, Ken opened his own studio and began making lampwork paperweights of his own.

When one looks at Ken’s 30 plus years of production, it is clear that he never allows his work to stagnate. Ken has always been pushing his art and his technique to new heights. Whether it be  his use of the orb and other sculptural forms, or adopting and reinventing techniques for use in paperweights, he has always been one of the main innovators in the art of the modern paperweight in both form and technique. He is considered by most to be a master in the art of the paperweight.
